Protective Doll

Protective Doll

Protective Doll is inspired by the  phrase 'Protect the Dolls' specifically refers to trans women. It originated in the 1980s ballroom scene, an underground culture that emerged in the African American and Latino queer communities.

Protective Doll is part of a 8 month research into analogue photography and printing. "If you know, you know" is my queerest work yet - a raw, unapologetic journey into queerness, kink, and fetishism. Shot entirely on analogue film, the series embraces texture, imperfection, and authenticity. This body of work doesn't aim to explain itself - it speaks in code, in authenticity. It invites those who know to feel seen, and those who don't to lean in.

A celebration of queer desire in all its layered, lustful, and deeply human forms.
