The photo book Mind Mirage is an ode to the queer community and aims to break stereotypes and question prejudices. Through the book, Versteeg wants to convey a message of inclusivity, acceptance, and equality. With “Mind Mirage” Versteeg wants to offer a platform to marginalised voices and celebrate the beauty of diversity. The queer community is under fire again, drag performances are being banned, violence against queer people is increasing and many people do not dare to be themselves in our society. With the photo book Mind Mirage, Versteeg wants to create a haven, a refuge where queerness can be celebrated, cherished, and understood without judgment.
