Handcrafted prints from the Darkroom

Handcrafted prints from the Darkroom

New: Limited Edition Black & White Prints – Made in the Darkroom

A new series has just landed in the shop — and this one is extra close to my heart.

This collection of black and white analogue photographs was entirely created by hand, from start to finish. Shot on film, developed in my own darkroom, and printed with care on museum-quality paper.

A project about kink, softness, and control

This body of work dives into themes of kink and fetishism through a queer, emotional, and intimate lens. It’s about power and surrender, tension and tenderness — the kinds of contrasts that live beneath the surface of desire.

If you know, you know is my queerest work yet — a raw, unapologetic journey into queerness, kink, and fetishism. Shot entirely on analogue film, the series embraces texture, imperfection, and authenticity. This body of work doesn’t aim to explain itself — it speaks in code, in gesture, in gaze. It invites those who know to feel seen, and those who don’t to lean in.

Why I returned to the darkroom.

After years of working digitally, I found myself craving something slower. More tactile.
Something that brings me closer to the work — physically and emotionally. There’s something timeless about black and white photography. The way light and shadow speak without colour. How emotion cuts deeper when all distractions are stripped away. It invites you to pause, look closer, and feel more.

The darkroom is a space where I can work with my hands. Where mistakes matter, and every print carries the trace of the process.

Each image is printed on fibre-based baryta paper, a high-end, archival paper known for its rich depth and texture. Every step — from exposure to final wash — is done by hand.

About the Process.

Each image begins its life as a medium format negative — shot on black and white film, then processed using traditional chemical development. From there, I enlarge and expose the image by hand using fibre-based baryta paper, known for its depth, detail, and archival quality.

The prints are developed, stopped, fixed, washed, and dried — all by hand, all by me. Each piece is a unique object, carrying the trace of every step in the process. It’s slow, physical work — and deeply connected to the themes the images themselves explore.

For some of the images I am using a two-bath development, to add more depth in the soft grey tones, and softer highlights, in the Netherlands I am actually one of the few photographers that is still processing images in this way.

Afterwards we are washing all of the prints with a clearing agent, guarantying a lifespan of 75+ years.
